  31. RUNNING THE PROGRAM FOR THE FIRST TIME
  32. The first time you start the program it will take a few moments
  33. to build the indexes. Please do not reboot your system during this process. 
  34. Subsequent starts will be much faster. 
  35.  
  36. BUILT-IN REPORTS.
  37.  
  38. Recipes for Windows 2.0 comes with several built-in reports.  You can use
  39. these reports as they are or you can modify any of them to fit you needs.
  40. The built-in reports and a brief description are listed below.
  41.  
  42. 3x5.fp        3x5 recipe report with the ingredients in 2 columns and directions.
  43. 3x5_1col.fp    3x5 recipe report with the ingredients in 1 column and directions.
  44. Coupons.fp    coupon listing by group.
  45. Coupons2.fp    coupon listing by expiration date.
  46. Pantry.fp    pantry listing using current sort order.
  47. Recindex.fp    recipe names using current sort.
  48. Recipes.fp    regular recipe report.
  49. Reciptab.fp    recipe tabular report with recipe name, category, servings and classification.
  50. Restaur.fp    restaurant index report with restaurant name, phone, address and cuisine.

  52. Read on-line help on how to use the built-in reports and how to create
  53. new reports.
  54.  
  55. IMPORTANT    All built-in reports are created using the HP Laserjet III 
  56. printer. If your printer is not an HP Laserjet III printer, you need to 
  57. modify the printer setup for each built-in report and specify your printer 
  58. model.  To specify your printer model:
  59.  
  60. 1.    From the View menu, select Recipe or click on the Recipe icon in the main 
  61. tool bar or press CTRL+I.  Recipes displays the Recipe view.
  62. 2.    From the File menu, select Modify Report.  Recipes displays the Select 
  63. Report File dialog box.
  64. 3.    Select a report.  For example, select Recipes.fp.  Recipes displays the
  65. report window.
  66. 4.    From the report's File menu, select Printer Setup. Recipes displays the 
  67. Printer Selection dialog box.
  68. 5.    Select your printer from the Available Printers list.
  69. 6.    From the report's File menu, select Exit.  Recipes prompts you with the 
  70. message "Do You Wish to Save the Modifications?"
  71. 7.    Select Yes.
  72. 8.    Repeat steps 1 to 7 for each report.

  74. FIND AND REPLACE IN DIRECTIONS AND NOTES.
  75. When using the Find and Replace option in Directions and Notes, you can 
  76. either choose the Find or Replace option and then type in the text you want
  77. to find in the Find What box or highlight the text you want to find and 
  78. choose Find or Replace and the highlighted text will be inserted in the 
  79. Find What box automatically.

  81. A SPECIAL USER LIST FOR SHOPPING LIST AND ADD INGREDIENTS.
  82. When adding items to prepare a new shopping list or adding ingredients to 
  83. a new recipe, it's nice to have a list of items that you can select over 
  84. and over again without having to retype it each time.  Recipes for Windows 
  85. 2.0 provides you with a special user list called "__Ingredient Name__" where
  86. you can define the items that you need most frequently.  To define these 
  87. items:

  89. 1.    From the Option menu, select Manage User Lists.
  90. Recipes displays the Manage User Lists dialog box.
  91. 2.    From the Available User List, select __Ingredient Name__.
  92. Several predefined items are displayed in the User List Items list box.
  93. You can add, edit or delete them using the Add, Edit and Delete buttons.
  94. 3.    Press Close.
  95. These items will be available in the Name field when you add or edit
  96. ingredient from the Shopping List or Recipe dialogs.

  98. NOTE:    unlike other User Lists in the program, you can only add, edit or 
  99. delete items in the __Ingredient Name__ list from the Manage User Lists 
  100. option.  In other User Lists you also have to use the Manage User Lists 
  101. option to edit or delete items, but you can add new items to list when you 
  102. use the list in other dialog boxes.

  105. SCALING BUTTON
  106. The scaling button is added to the main tool bar.  This button is only 
  107. available when the Recipe view is active.  The scaling button is also 
  108. available in the Recipe dialog box.
  109.  
  110. SCALING
  111. Two new options have been added to the Scaling Dialog Box. You can scale
  112. units only or Quantity and units.
